Telemedicine

Overview

I worked with a start-up to design a demo for their in-home telemedicine system. The patient-facing interface helps users manage chronic health conditions. Patient service providers can customize the dashboard and modules to fit with their hardware and program needs.

User Research

I began by reviewing academic literature and white papers about telemedicine to gain a foundational understanding of the field. I then performed a competitor analysis of five alternative systems by assessing their features, customer reviews, strengths, and weaknesses.

After brainstorming potential product features I created a list of user stories. These were shared with the client and development team, then narrowed down to final design requirements to be incorporated into the final product.

Annotated Wireframes

Once the team agreed upon the core user stories I created wireframes to convey each screen’s content and layout. The visuals along with functionality explanations were used to gather feedback and further define the design specifications.

Mockups

With approved wireframes, I fleshed out the UI for further review and feedback. After several iterations, the complete design was agreed upon. The assets along with design documentation was then delivered to the development team to implement the final system.
